Piedmont Wine Country Retreats | Private Group & Corporate Travel
Piedmont, or Piemonte in Italian, remains one of Italy's most treasured hidden gems, increasingly recognized for its world renowned Barolo wines, crafted from the noble Nebbiolo grape. Set in northwest Italy and bordered by France and Switzerland, the region is framed dramatically on three sides by the Alps and Apennines, with centuries of French influence from its years under the House of Savoy. Piedmont is home to five UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is the birthplace of both the Slow Food movement and Eataly, founded in the town of Bra
When you book your group experience in Italy, ExquisItalia is your single point of contact for everything on the ground. Built on fifteen years of direct relationships with Piedmont's wineries, chefs, drivers, and venues, including connections developed through my WSET Level 3 wine certification, I curate each itinerary around your group rather than handing you a standard package.
I work closely with your event planner or executive assistant to keep logistics smooth from the first call to the final day, drawing on years of experience navigating the unexpected challenges that come with planning in Italy. The goal is simple: an experience that feels effortless for you and memorable for everyone attending.
Not every group is focused on wine, so I've built out a range of options below to cover different interests, alongside the wine experiences Piedmont is known for.
Autumn is a beautiful time to visit, when the wines are fermenting, the air turns crisp with the scent of woodsmoke, and Alba's white truffles come into season. In spring, new wines are released, the vines begin to bud, and the countryside is at its most vivid. I look forward to planning your event.

Winery Visits
I absolutely love Piedmont and never tire of it. It's a hidden gem, and mostly known for the prized Barolo and Barbaresco and Barbera wines. There are also lesser known local grapes used to produce gorgeous sparkling, white and red wines, which all pair beautifully with the regional cuisines.
We can arrange visits to small hidden gems, medium size or large Estates, museums focusing on wine production and underground cathedrals focusing on sparkling wine.
Any wine-lover would appreciate the warmth and passion of the Piedmont producers, an experience not to be missed. Many family estates are multi generations, and the history of Piedmont wine-making goes back to the Middle Ages.

Gastronomy
Piedmont boasts some of the best cuisine in Italy, is home of the Slow Food movement, and has the most Michelin star restaurants of any region. There are plenty of options from trattorias, osterias, enotecas and gourmet. One of our clients' favorites is a historic castle with a high-end restaurant.
Piedmont is famous for the prized Alba white truffle, hazelnuts, local cheeses such as Castelmagno, sausage from Bra, tender and lean Fassona beef steak and tartar, and last but not least, the majority of risotto rice grows along the Po river plains. We have curated experiences such as lunch or dinner in the gorgeous cellar of a Barolo producer, truffle hunting in the autumn months with a prized dog, food tours in Bra or Alba, and a team building cooking course.

Truffle hunting and cooking courses
Every autumn, from mid September through December, it's Alba white truffle season in Piedmont. Prized dogs are trained to hunt and sniff them out, where they grow wild around the Alba area. We can arrange a morning hunt with a guide and their specially trained hunting dog, followed by an optional cooking course and wine pairing lunch, including dishes that are prepared with the truffles.
Optionally, we can take you to a local restaurant that has multiple options for truffle dishes and other local specialties. Some of the better pairings for truffles are homemade delicate Tajarin pasta, local Castelmagno cheese fondue with poached egg, or shaved over meats such as veal, rabbit and beef.

Other fun excursions
We can arrange other popular activities, including guided historical castle and museum tours, top cru Barolo vineyard adventure in a 4WD luxury vehicle, hot air balloon rides, city tours of Torino (Turin) or Alba, cheese and gourmet tour of the Slow Food HQ of Bra, day of golf and/or spa.
